Ian and Hayley...

Carefree...

Goofy pair! Ian took this "self portrait" of Hayley and himself at Pike's Peak in northeastern Iowa... just across from Prairie Du Chien.

Ain't no otter place I'd a-rather been relaxing!

It were loverly to hang out in Otterwa awhile!
Here is Kaatje and me...

and this is a Kaatje sandwich, with me and her mommy, my beloved Lyssa on each side!

This is Mike, a friend of mine who run a virtual youth centre in Orleans, a suburb of Otterwa. We climbed a tree or two, which I tried very hard to fall out of, but came away with only a few scratches!

So, where do you think this door originally led?

Gorgeous church! Almost makes me want to be a Christian...

And last but not least, the Rideau Canal.
Gotta jet for now, my beautiful step-daughter and her wonderful daddy just walked through the door!

off to otterwa!

wouldn't it be cool that was really what Ottawa was called and it was people with happy peaceful Otterfolk?
Wind in the Willows anyone?
Just back from doing photos at the startup for the TransRockies Challenge (one of those super challenging bicycle race sort of things that lasts a week and starts at Panorama and ends in Fernie) and have to pack, clean, drive to Calgary and get to Ottawa!
So, I'll be on sporadically, and if I don't talk to you sooner, talk to you next weekend!

A picture speaks a thousand words... or 20,000

I find this bumper sticker on my friend Jenny's car hysterical... but I am Canadian after all!
I figured after all my depressing posts, something a little more lighthearted was in order. Thanks for all your words of support... I left a quick thankyou on the post about Mama B.

Mama B

Mama B died peacefully in her sleep last night.
I think she knew how tired her faithful daughters were, sitting with her around the clock for over a week, and decided it was time to give them peace, and find her own.
A little sigh, a gentle smile, a sweet release.
Bye Mama. I love you. I'll miss you. But I promise not to cry too much, you wouldn't want that, and I promise to stand by Arly and make sure she is okay.
Always your extra,
Stephy

hiatus...

Hey guys... I may be off awhile, but checking in when I can. My best friend's mother is dying, and I will be in the hospital to be with her as much as I can for the next few long days. All three sisters are being so strong, and Mama is not alone for one minute as they take shifts around the clock. I actually just got home, and am going to go catch a few winks before the day starts.

My own mum is healthy, thank the Goddess, but Mama B has been my second mum since I was 13. So, that's where I need to be.

Back soon, don't get into too much trouble while I am gone!
