ChickenHead come, ChickenHead go....
Here are a couple of initial photos of Jean-Luc ChickenHead... two and a half more days to wait....
So, we took in a wee kitty last night. He was all alone by a gabage dumpster, crying and crying, so we called the local animal rescue and told them we'd take him home and they could pick him up the next day... today...
Sigh.
He was obviously on his own for awhile, malnourished, his poor ears almost solid with dirt and mites. Poor thing had a rather unfortunate gastro-intestinal response to his first decent food in some time (and looked so very sorry about it) but the second go around went much better. And he knows about the litter box, which is a blessing.
So Ian and I took him in, the kids called him ChickenHead, and we fell in love with him overnight.
Ian, pretending to be mister big gruff and tuff, says this mornng, as he was playing with the little orange darling (with a badly scarred up nose, I might add) "Well, if you and the kids want, if they can't find his home, we can adopt him."
See, we agreed, NO PETS, at least not for a long time.
Than along came a straggly little orange kitten named ChickenHead, and we're lost.
We have to wait five days, then we can adopt him, and of course he needs to see a vet.
Keep your fingers crossed that no one claims him...
I miss him already.

Stevie - one good redhead deserves another! It was meant to be.
Seriously though, who is likely to claim such a poor little neglected thing? It sounds as if he'd been dumped. Kittens (if it was a kitten) don't usually run away. I hope I'm not maligning a family who's mourning his loss, but it doesn't sound like it. Cats have a pretty good homing sense.
I hope for your sake and his that his owners think they have already said goodbye to him, and you have a welcome addition to your family.
Oh! (as in, aw!)
Thats the best way to acquire pets. when they find you.
cant wait to meet chickenhead!
hilarious. will laugh out loud when i say that out loud.
love you!
Ahh bless!..I hope you are allowed to keep him, the poor little mite, I think Margies right, it sounds like no one has cared for him, thats why he came to you because he knows you will care for him and love him, with love and care he can feel all better again..
I'm sure they won't find anyone more suitable than you and Ian.
Chickenhead will come home to roost with you..then we can see some pics yay!!..
Jeez, if you wanted a cat you should have asked us!
We have six of them...
"Chickenhead"...
LOL!
Yes, we might be persuaded to attend your soiree...
:)
Can I come and live with you and Ian?, shhh!, don't tell mumsy, i'll be good!..er-well i'll try..
see you friday, i'll bring some Noir Sham-pain and if Berts out of rehab i'll bring him too..
love Alfie..x..
Margie - we redheads do need to stick together! We have four more days... and we are fostering him now until we can adopt him! I just couldn't let him stay in a kennel for five whole days without us...
Margery! You will LOVE him!
Gypsy - I`ll have pics soon, and a word to the wise, might want to keep an eye on Alfie...
Dale- SIX cats!! yoiks. I think this little guy actually looked for and found us! We have to get him neutered as soon as possible though so no more kitties end up on their own. I think fixing animals should be a law.
Alfie: sshhh, yes of course you can come, and see you Friday with the noirshampain! I have tasty cat treats here... nudge nudge!
And I should announce, though of course Thursday is the day we should be waiting until, that our potential new family member has a FULL name now:
Jean-Luc ChickenHead.
I got to pick his first name!
Any relation to Captain Picard?
So...what time on Friday?
The big question is, will we get to meet ChickenHead?
Oh Stevie,
he is just darling. Fingers and claws crossed that he'll be inducted into the family.
xx
AM
Hi Stevie,
I was a rescue kitty too! And Mummy has always been happy that I came along, although my four babies had to go somewhere else.
*bisous*
Oh, hi, Alfie! *bisous* to you as well. Stevie, did you say Jean-Luc was a boy? And he's French?
xx
Creemie
Mais oui Creemore, Jean-Luc is a French kitty, with a little Irish I think, hence the red hair!
Dale, anytime after 5 ish is great! And hopefully you will meet Jean-Luc (wishful thinking on the Picard part...I tried, but ChickenHead prevailed!)
Oh wow! this is amazing and he's so cute. I LOVE the name too. I bet he's just amazed at what's happened to him too. Isn't it amazing how a pure innocent kitty can wrench at the heart like that. I sure hope you can keep him because if you can that'll be one of the luckiest cats around.
I'll be there on Friday ... in spirit while I am ... gulp ... house hunting.
Ahhh ginger kitties! The stuff of Whiskas Ads :) Thanks for visiting my page Stevie and your kind comments, and yes by the way :D After a punishing session on the pole your muscles are in tatters for a good 48 hours, im on my 2nd day off now, straight back for more lash tomorrow, since it's my birthday i'll do anything to escape the twentyfiveness!! Hurrah xxx
Awwww. He's so sweet! Well, it's Wednesday now and one more day to go. I hope he's still with you...
I have to agree with Margie - whatever happens, Jean-Luc ChickenHead and your family were meant to cross paths, and I love the part about him looking so sorry about his unfortunate g-i response...
Anyway, have a wonderful housewarming this weekend and all take care!
Oh Stevie he is adorable!.. Chickenhead suits him..
Please let the powers that be make him part of your family!..fingers and paws crossed here..
Soooo? What's happened? Is he yours? My cats are crossing their paws for you!
Happy Birthday, Steph!
I see your blogger profile has kept up with you.
Sorry we didn't make it to the housewarming...
It was another rough couple of days, but we're doing OK.
Hope you have a lovely day!
